Security versus civil liberties # 3

I don't agree with Posner at all. Posner wants our nation to have security at times where he feels like we need it the most, for example, right after 9/11. I think we need it way after we are attacked. I feel this way because during 9/11, we came together as a nation and we became strong and stood side by side; almost 9 years have gone by since 9/11 has happened and i fell like we are more vulnerable now then every before. We are just sitting around thinking everything is going to be good since we have troops over in Iraq for some odd reason. I bet some people don't even know why we have troops over there in the first place. I also don't agree with Posner when he starts talking about our rights as a citizen, i feel like we don't have as many rights as we did before. When it comes to freedom of speech, we should just take that off the Bill of Rights. After 9/11 our airports have been so strict of passengers, which i love and totally agree with; but when a citizen that was born and raised in the United States looks like a Muslim or someone that is from the Mid-East will be watched and eyed down just because of the way they look which is completely wrong. I'm surprised they pilot doesn't ask them to get off the plane. I feel like the United States isn't standing up to its standards like it once did and its very disappointing to saw but its the way I see it.

  1. I have to disagree with what you say because I believe the government is now more careful about all the plans to attack us nor only in the United state but around the world. We are constantly hearing how the United States, Britain, and Spain just to name a few countries that are working together to protect their people are always disrupting there plans and evaluate the threat level at different level to inform their citizen. Remember that we will never be completely safe just look at what happened in Texas were the private plane crash into the IRS office.
